CES, 2024년 최고 혁신상 수상작 발표(CTA announces CES 2024 Innovation Awards Honorees)

세계 최대 IT혁신 축제 CES를 주최하는 전미소비자기술협회(CTA) 2023년 최고 혁신상(Best of Innovation)으로 선정된 36개 제품을 포함한  'CES 2024 혁신상 수상작(CES® 2024 Innovation Awards honorees)'을 발표했다.

CES 혁신상은 29개 제품 부문에서 뛰어난 디자인과 기술을 탑재한 소비자 대상 제품을 선정해 수여한다. CES 2024에는 사상 최고치인 3,000개 이상의 출품작이 접수되었으며, 이는 CES 2023 대비 40% 증가한 수치라고 CTA는 밝혔다.

CES혁신상은  미디어, 디자이너, 엔지니어 등 업계 전문가로 구성된 독립적인 심사위원단이 혁신성, 기능성, 심미성, 디자인 등을 기준으로 출품작을 검토하고 평가해 권위가 높다. 모든 부문에서 가장 높은 평가를 받은 제품은 '최고 혁신상(Best of Innovation designation)'을 받는다.

[디지털 헬스, 혁신상 주요 테마로]

CES혁신상은 또 그 해의 최고 기술 트렌드를 말해주기도 한다.  CES 2024 프로그램에서 제출 건수 기준 상위 2개 부문은 '디지털 헬스(digital health)'과 '지속가능성, 친환경 디자인 및 스마트 에너지(‘sustainability, eco-design & smart energy)'였다.

이 추세는 전 세계의 큰 과제를 해결하고 인류의 삶을 개선할 수 있는 분야의 혁신 속도가 빨라지고 있음을 보여주는 것으로, CTA는 유엔 인간안보신탁기금(UN Trust Fund for Human Security) 및 세계예술과학아카데미(WAAS)와 협력해 인류 안보를 발전시키기 위해 이번 전시회의 주요 테마로 선정했다.  CES 2024의 최고 혁신 목록(the Best of Innovation list)에는 CES 2023에서 소개된 '휴먼 시큐리티(Human Security)' 카테고리 제품이 처음으로 포함됐다.

[AI도 CES2024 혁신상에 등장]

주어진 명령에 따라 이미지, 텍스트, 비디오를 만드는 생성AI(Generative AI)가 전세계를 휩쓰는 가운데 CES도 AI를 품었다. CES 2024 혁신상에는 인공지능(AI) 부문도 신설됐다.  AI 부문은 전체 응모작 중 7%를 차지했고 이는 혁신 기업가들이 기술의 미래를 형성하는 데 있어 AI의 혁신적 잠재력을 점점 더 많이 인식하고 있다는 것을 보여준다. CES 2024에서 AI는 전시장과 컨퍼런스 프로그램 전반에 걸쳐 광범위하게 등장할 예정이라고 CTA는 밝혔다.

CES2024 전체 혁신상(The full Best of Innovation list) 수상 기업은 522개 이며 전체 수상작은 CES 2024 기간에 발표된다. 전체 제품은 베네치아 엑스포(Venetian Expo)에서 열리는 CES의 혁신상 쇼케이스에서 공개될 예정이다.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), producer of CES, the world's largest celebration of technology innovation, has announced the CES® 2024 Innovation Awards honorees, including 36 products that were named Best of Innovation for 2023.

The CES Innovation Awards recognize consumer-facing products with outstanding design and technology in 29 product categories. CES 2024 received an all-time high of more than 3,000 entries, a 40 percent increase over CES 2023, the CTA said.

The CES Innovation Awards are highly prestigious, with an independent panel of judges comprised of industry experts including media, designers, and engineers reviewing and evaluating entries based on innovation, functionality, aesthetics, and design. The highest-rated products in all categories receive the Best of Innovation designation.

The CES Innovation Awards also speak to the year's top technology trends. For the CES 2024 program, the top two categories by number of submissions were "digital health" and "sustainability, eco-design, and smart energy.

This trend demonstrates the accelerating pace of innovation in areas that can address the world's greatest challenges and improve human lives, and CTA, in partnership with the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security and the World Academy of Arts and Sciences (WAAS), has made human security a major theme of the show to advance the cause. The Best of Innovation list at CES 2024 included for the first time products in the "Human Security" category, which was introduced at CES 2023.

Generative AI - the ability to create images, text, and video on command - is taking the world by storm, and CES has embraced it. The CES 2024 Innovation Awards included a new AI category, which accounted for 7% of all entries, demonstrating that innovative entrepreneurs are increasingly recognizing the transformative potential of AI in shaping the future of technology. At CES 2024, AI will be featured extensively across the show floor and conference program, the CTA said.

There are 522 companies on the full Best of Innovation list for CES2024, and the full winners will be announced during CES 2024. The full list of products will be unveiled at CES' Best of Innovation showcase at the Venetian Expo.
